You should never stop caring for your eyes.
Many eye diseases and conditions develop over time without symptoms, putting your eyes at risk for vision loss. With our team of eye care experts, we can diagnose these issues early and provide you with the treatments or management solutions you need to preserve your eye health and vision.
It all starts with an eye exam. Please, book an appointment with our team today!
As you grow older, certain eye diseases and conditions like glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and cataracts can develop and threaten the health of your eyes and the quality of your vision.
However, regular eye exams will diagnose and manage these issues before your vision is affected. While the American Optometric Association recommends having an eye exam every two years between 18 and 64, we recommend undergoing annual eye exams.
If you have any health conditions that could affect your eyes, like diabetes, we may recommend more frequent eye exams.
Some risk factors could include:
Medical complications like:
Every eye exam starts with a conversation about your health and wellbeing. During this conversation, we will confirm all of your health information, including your health history, family health history, and eye health history is accurate and up-to-date.
Please feel free to ask any questions or bring up any concerns you may have. This will help us orientate the exam to serve you better. Once we’ve confirmed your health history is correct and answered all of your questions, we’ll start with the rest of the exam.
A visual acuity assessment allows us to check how sharp your vision is without the use of eyeglasses or contact lenses. Using some tried-and-true tests like a phoropter or a Snellen eye chart, we will determine the lens prescription you need to achieve the clearest vision possible.
Many eye diseases can develop for years without showing symptoms, but they can still damage your eyes and vision. By the time you notice symptoms, your vision may already be permanently damaged.
However, our team can detect and diagnose these issues before your vision is damaged and provide you with solutions to treat or manage your eye disease.
At the end of the eye exam, we will provide you with our recommendations to promote clear and healthy vision. If you need glasses or contact lenses, you will spend a little time with our optical team to find the solution that works best for you.
